Parmjeet Uppal

Parmjeet immigrated to Canada, as a child, over 60 years ago.  Like many newcomers, Parmjeet and his family faced the challenges of adapting to a new culture, navigating complex systems, and building a sense of belonging in an unfamiliar place. These experiences ignited a passion for helping others on similar journeys.

 

Having retired a few years ago, he began to look for ways to give back to the community in which he has lived virtually his whole life. VIRCS was the natural and obvious choice to make a difference.   With firsthand experience of the immigrant journey, Parmjeet is committed to fostering inclusion, breaking down barriers, and helping others find their place in Canada.

 

Parmjeet is happily married with three adult children. He is an avid cyclist and most days he can be found riding the many beautiful areas in our city
